Should I just do any job?

Question

I went to vocational school for about 4 months and I graduated in December with certifications in Excel PowerPoint and Word (the school is a government based program and I got my certifications through school as well as a completion certificate in Business) and I have applied to many clerical and office jobs yet get turned down left and right.
I'm thinking about just applying for any job right now (even fast food) until I save up enough to move out. Should I do this or just keep waiting until I find a job that fits what I'm looking for? To be honest I would feel embarrassed working in fast food considering I'm in my 20s and I feel like I went through all that schooling for nothing. :/

yes, save up and keep applying for jobs that interest you while you work. certifications in the office programs aren't really worth much, if anything as they're basic skills required in office work. if you want certifications, look into specialised ones. i worked in cloud data management so i got certifications in stuff like cloud admin, security, metrics, technical architect, etc. it's a boost to have specific certifications related to your industry.

Tbh I earned certification in excel, PowerPoint and word while in high school. I thought it was gonna be more valuable than it actually ended up being. While it does look good to have it on an application it's really not all that valuable. If moving out is your priority then I'd take whatever job you can find. If fast food doesnt sound great to you then try applying for retail jobs. You can be a sales associate, cashier or stocker. Then once you have a job continue to apply to jobs that you actually want. Having a job will look better on applications. Good luck.
