My boyfriend has ADHD and he’s been taking adderall from a young age. He’s quite self aware but I wanted advice/opinions from people who are prescribed adderall about its effects. He’s told me (and I’ve experienced lol) that it decreases sex drive and such, but what is truly frustrating is it’s effects on his personality/emotions (if it even does that?). We are in high school so he doesn’t tell me when he does or doesn’t take it, I assume he’s always on it. I know for sure one time he wasn’t and we had a huge fight and he expressed to a friend that it made him worry that he’s two different people with or without medication :( In general he can get quite unemotional and emotionally unresponsive and I was wondering if that could be from adderall, adhd, or if he’s just an impassive person? Our relationship hasn’t been in the best state recently, but even with him just as my friend I want him to be happy and cared for, and I want be able to approach him as someone more educated and understanding of the experience he goes through so really any perspective or inside info about anything related helps!
