Do you feel this way

Question

Do your husbands ever rub your belly.. talk to baby.. or show ANY interest in it?
Lately my hubby has been more distant with the pregnancy, complaining about all the things piling up, not wanting to engage with the ultrasounds/appts, not rubbing my belly or anything else..... it breaks my heart 😭 I just want him to want to be a part of this journey. 
Last night he crawled into bed and said “I love you baby” and I said “awe he loves you too” he legit sat up and went “umm.. I was talking to you ....” *insert awkward silence here* 🙄 
How do i address this with him without coming across like he’s a “bad husband/dad?

My husband has never taken any interest in any of my pregnancies. This is my 5th. Out of all 5 of them, hes been to 3 appointments and 1 ultrasound. He doesn't pick out any baby items. Doesn't do much to pick out names. It's never bothered me though because that's just how he is. On the other hand, he is an amazing parent from the second they arrived. To be completely honest, he's probably the better parent out of the two of us. Pregnancy just isn't something he understands.

I wonder based on his reaction if he is feeling like your relationship now revolves entirely around the baby and he is needing some affection and attention, too, and specifically from you. He may be feeling like you only care about the baby now and may be hurting. I'd talk to him about it.

It’s normal for guys not to have the same attachment to the baby during pregnancy. He sounds like he’s worrying about all the stuff to come - money etc. 
he will bond with baby when born and they’ll have their own relationship.

Here’s the thing. Men are babies. Creatures of habit. They want to be the one who gets all the attention, love and sex. When we are pregnant, we obviously are strung out on hormones, feelings of being less attractive, excitement for the baby and baby things. Men just don’t really have that. My husband is the most attentive man to me, I come first, always. The baby is not really much of a baby to him just yet. When our first son was born though, his life changed so fast. He loves our son so much, it’s crazy. He is more attentive to him now than I am. So don’t worry. He’ll be fine once the little one comes. In the meantime, be happy that you get to make most the choices on your own. You have the control and that makes it easier. ;)

My SO didn't want this baby at the beginning (it was an Oops pregnancy lol) and didn't show any interest until he could see and feel kicks around 20-some weeks. It didn't even really kick in that this was happening until our anatomy ultrasound when he saw the baby's heartbeat. There are days where he's super interested and talks to the baby, pokes around at my belly to get him moving, etc but there are days where he seems like he doesn't give a shit too. Lol men are just kind of weird about pregnancy anyways, but it doesn't usually hit for them until the baby is born.

My fience always showed her wanted to be apart of it all. Funny story after I had our son his first child my 5th the nurse came in and said OK we need to do skin to skin and he assumed she was talking to him so he takes his shirt off and picks the baby up and puts him on his chest. His mom me and the nurse is just sitting there in silence for a few mins. And I looked at him and said OK babe its my turn and we all started laughing even he did so glad he has a sence of humor ❤

My husband didn’t really talk to baby when I was pregnant, but he paid extra close attention to me and the fact that I was pregnant. He also went to every ultrasound and prenatal visit that worked for his schedule. I personally could not deal with my husband, of all people, ignoring the fact that I was pregnant. This would be a huge deal to me. You and your body are going through a lot for him to just not even acknowledge you and the work involved. I’d be upset.

When I was pregnant my husband felt awkward talking to my belly, sometimes when he thought I was asleep I’d hear him chatting to it but during the day he wouldn’t that was only right near the end though. I think it can be harder for men while your pregnant because they can’t feel baby like you can, that bond you already feel isn’t there as much with them. I wouldn’t worry though the moment he sees your baby for the first time that will completely change, my husband said what they passed our daughter to him it hit him like a ton of bricks and he instantly understood how I’d felt about baby while I was pregnant ❤️
