BA, baby boy wanted to go natural

Kim • Mummy to Aliza, 09/06/2017 - Henry 05/02/2020

I was due the 9th of February but I had a planned C-section for the 6th, on Wednesday the 5th, I woke up as normal and around about 11am I started off with my first contraction, I knew it was a contraction because of my previous labor with my daughter, I had back labor. The contractions were 5-7 minutes apart. That same day I had a pre op appointment for half 1pm. I rang the hospital to tell them about my contractions and they told me to come in. We got to the hospital about half 12. We had to wait in the reception area for half an hour. They eventually put me in triage were they was monitoring my contractions. I explained I was in labor but the midwife was saying I was just having Braxton Hicks which I knew they was definitely not Braxton Hicks as I was in pain and they was coming every 5 minutes, she had me on the monitoring machine for an hour or more. She wouldn't check me if I was dilated or anything! Instead she passed me some paracetamol. It got to about 4pm and I was still in triage when I had a bloody show, still the midwife didn't think I was in labor. She kept saying we had to wait for the doctor. I explained my C-section was the next day. She left the room and then my waters broke, my partner had to go and get her again and eventually she checked me for dilation, I was 8cm, I was rushed into the delivery room and at 4:39pm I

delivered my son. It was too late for a C-section. Welcome to the world Henry, 7lbs 7.
