Round ligament pain

How bad can round ligament pain get? I’m 31 weeks. I had horrible pain in my lower abdomen yesterday morning to the point I could barely walk. I was at work. It went on all day continuously but wasn’t as bad as the morning but it was continuous. I called my doctor and they sent me to OB triage. After ruling out preterm labor and appendicitis they said it was probably round ligament pain and wrote me script for a belly belt and told me to take Tylenol. Later that night I was in so much pain I could barely walk again. I’m just wondering how this could be considered normal. Has anyone else experienced round ligament pain that was excruciating and lasted the entire day?
