Well last Sunday I went to ER due to extreme flank pain... I’ve had kidney stones before so I was pretty sure I had one. They sent me to L&D Bc of how far along I am (28 weeks)... well they did an ultrasound and all they could confirm was a swollen kidney... they sent me home and just told me to take Tylenol. Couldn’t sleep bc of the pain.. laying down on either side was impossible. I sat up in a chair for a while which helped.

I ended up going back Monday, where they insisted there was no stone and solely gave me stronger meds... went home again.

Tuesday I stayed home miserable in pain with no sleep or food bc I couldn’t keep anything down.

Wednesday I had my regular checkup and still told them how much pain I had and doctor said to go to hospital...

It’s now the third time I’ve been and the doctor got rude with basically telling me there was nothing she could do but pain management.

I got frustrated I was in so much pain I started crying and demanding that a urologist come see me.

Urologist requested an ultrasound and urine tests, though again they couldn’t see a stone they saw my left kidney had blockage.

Of course being pregnant a lot of interference regarding a meds and even procedures are avoided... but bc i was in so much pain, they decided to go with scope to see the blockage and if they could grab a stone of whatever was blocking me they would do it.

I finally had a procedure Thursday they found the stone!! Placed a stent to keep my ureter open but it was the scariest thing... they placed me under general anesthesia.

My baby boy was safe and healthy with no scares throughout the process which I’m so thankful for but man I don’t wish kidney stones while pregnant on my worst enemy.
