MIL Tantrum....
My husband and I have a 1.5 yr old son. My MIL has this habit of throwing a “tantrum” when things don’t go her way. She basically puts my husband on a guilt trip.
She told my husband she wanted to come steal our son for half the day tomorrow. My husband told me and I reminded him that we’re trying out a new church tomorrow and were going to take him. My husband forgot, and told my mil she could come get him, but it would have to be after church.
Now, to me, it’s weird she wants to come get him for the day, because he’s 1.5 and all over the place. She doesn’t have a single thing for him to play with, nothing is toddler proofed, there’s no place for him to nap....I asked my husband: “What is he going to do?” 🤨
She is welcome at our house any time, which she knows and takes advantage of. Why not just come visit? Anyway, she got bent out of shape and said she’s not coming to get him now. Really? Because we aren’t going to be here at the exact moment you were wanting to pick him up? 🙄 she wanted to keep him overnight at her house at 8 weeks old with no place for him to sleep. So, of course, we said no. She literally cried and accused us of thinking she was a bad parent. 🤦🏻♀️
Anyone else’s mil have melt downs about grandkids? How do you handle it?
