6 week old baby only likes to sleep on his side??

Question

So since my son was born he was always put to bed in his moses basket on his back to sleep but for the last 2 weeks he just won't settle but has recently discovered rolling onto his side and has been sleeping much more comfortably. He has not however mastered being able to roll onto his tummy.
If this is the only way he'll allow himself to sleep should I let him or should I keep moving him back onto his back?

Is fine. My daughter did the same thing. They say as long as they’re the ones doing it, it’s fine.

My son was the same way. As long as he doesn’t roll fully over and risk getting stuck I would not be concerned. If baby is more comfortable that way (aka sleeps better!) then I’d just go with it 😃

My little girl used to sleep on her side exactly like that all the time when she was younger, id always put her down on her back and she’d just end up like that. There was no point moving her because she just went straight back to that position, as she got bigger she stopped doing it and just sleeps on her back now xx

Totally okay! Just make sure to always start on the back. But I would invest in a sleep sack. That blanket is a suffocation risk.

That's how my son use to sleep, around 2 months old he started sleeping more on his back, until he learned to roll over consistently... now at 14 months old he hates laying on his back. He sleeps on his belly in the crib with his butt in the air sometimes.
