Differences in 1st appointments?

Curious about differences in 1st appointments w your ob/gyn.
My first pregnancy I called as soon as I had a positive test, they scheduled my appt for when I was about 10 weeks, and at that appointment I just remember a lot of “education”, maybe peeing in a cup, and we heard the heart beat on a Doppler.  I didn’t get an ultrasound until later on and they measured like the thigh and the head and stuff. 
This pregnancy appt scheduled about 9 weeks but they said I’d have an ultrasound ( or sonogram? I can’t remember and they are the same thing I think?). 
I’m wondering why the difference between the 2 pregnancies, maybe I called in later with the first one than I thought? 
What are your first appointments looking like?

I think it depends on your doctor. At my doctor my first appt is at 8 weeks and they give an ultrasound but a lot of other doctors around where I live do not give an ultrasound until around 20 weeks unless there are complications

Hi, so my first appointment was at 6 weeks and I had a regular ultrasound and a vaginal ultrasound. He found the heartbeat and let me see it. & I had to come back at 8 weeks and now I won’t be going back until 12 weeks. I had to go in early because I had a miscarriage last year...
But last year, the first visit I called and got seen at 7 weeks and he was looking for baby and heartbeat and didn’t see anything but an empty sac and we continued to monitor from that point. I think it all really depends on the gyn and office.

I had a vaginal US and some education at my first appt. I was already established with my Dr. so not much history to update. It was actually pretty quick.

My very 1st appointment was at 6weeks and they only did bloodwork and got what felt like my life history. I only saw the nurse. My 2nd appointment was at 9w1d. They did an ultrasound and I saw my actual doctor. She said my next ultrasound will be the anatomy scan at 18-20 weeks. It’s also the scan where they tell you the gender.

It the same office? I’m seeing a different doctor this time around and they schedule an ultrasound your first appointment so get due date established.
