Our landlord is refusing to make repairs to our restroom. We didn’t rent the house out in this condition so we shouldnt have to live with it like this. He told my husband he will take 50$ off the rent if he fixes the hole under the bathroom sink and that they will fix the broken faucet in the bathtub but that’s it!! And I looked online says it’s illegal to have us do the repairs and deduct from rent. The bathtub has been peeling paint since we first moved in 14 months ago it’s still peeling, theirs a lot of water damage from the wall shelf in the shower that goes to the glory side porch you can see all the bubbles in the paint outside which I know has caused mold to be in the wall by now. They sent unlicensed handymen to paint the tub once and it all peeled off again causing the toilet to barely work from all the paint in the drains we finally got the toilet fixed but he’s still refusing to renovate the restroom after he came by looked at it said he would then we got a email saying their not doing it anymore.. I have a baby due in 8 weeks I’ve been trying to get this restroom fixed for MONTHSSS now. I’m getting so fed up with it paint is peeled off the tub and the shelf’s in the shower. Also found out he didn’t have insurance on the house untill a few weeks ago and raised our rent way before that due to insurance being raised when their wasn’t any. WHAT CAN I DO??????
