Maternity leave + moving house?

Question

Hi guys, this is my first pregnancy and I have no idea when I'm supposed to start my maternity leave! 
I have an office job so do not have a physically draining job. This being my first pregnancy, I have no idea how I will be feeling in my third trimester.
To throw another spanner in the works, we will be moving to another city when I start my maternity leave, so I don't want to leave it too late where I will not be able to assist moving.. but I also don't want to go too early so that I am not wasting any time before my baby comes..
I am so confused! Any advice will be very much appreciated!

Depends on when you want to. I only got 8 weeks with both my kids so I went to the last minute. 2 days before my sons induction and 1 day before my daughters C-section. I also moved during maternity leave (not to a different city though) and I could still do a lot even having a C-section. We had house showings the week we got home from the hospital and I was up vacuuming lol. I wouldn’t be too worried about that.

I worked until I went into labor. I was supposed to go to work after my 40 week appt, but the doctor accidentally broke my water during my exam...
I wanted the full 12 weeks with my baby. It’s up to what you want to do.

It depends on when you want to. My first child I worked up until I was induced at 38 weeks. I had low amniotic fluid so I didn’t plan that. With my second I knew I had to have a scheduled c section at 39 weeks, so I took my leave at 38. So I guess with both babies I went on leave at 38 weeks, the first one I had no time before baby the second I had 1 week. Really it’s up to you and your husband. I was bred to save as much leave for when after the baby was born for bonding time
