Want to get married?’

Me (18) and my boyfriend (18) are ending highschool soon,we are crazy about each other. I am going to college and eventually becoming a police officer then hopefully K-9. My boyfriend is going into the Navy and learning more about diesel mechanics. We want to get married or at least engaged before he gets deployed. Are we too young to want to get married/engaged?

I wouldn’t, at least not yet. See how you do with long distance while he’s in the military. You both with likely change and mature a lot (hopefully) and that can change what you want and need in a relationship. Especially as you both have different plans you’re working on, I don’t see the rush to get married.

Yes, you’re too young. But that doesn’t mean it won’t be a lasting relationship or that it isn’t worth doing it. 
It just means that instead of learning who you are as individuals, you’ll be developing into functioning adults as a single unit. You’ll grow together (or apart) but as one. 
I think there’s something meaningful in finding out who you are before settling down with someone for life. But my parents got married super young and have one of the strongest relationships I’ve ever witnessed. 
So really it depends on the two of you. How you handle life together. And if you’re willing to commit to continued growth and advancement together. If you stagnate, there will be problems. If you grow separately, you may grow apart.

No. Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re too young. Only you two will know when you’re ready. My husband and I got married after highschool and we’re still together.
