confused and slightly hurt..

so about a month ago, i met this guy and we were both virgins but we decided to hook up. at the time it was only a hookup but then we hung out at my house a few times and he was tired of sneaking behind this girls back so he told her he didn’t want anything with her before they were serious.. i assumed we were “ talking talking “ and that we were going to turn into something serious. last night he really hurt me and we had a big talk about what we want out of this. we basically agreed on just keeping things how they are now ( hanging out & having sex ). i feel like he’s just scared of messing things up and maybe doesn’t wanna get in a relationship and get hurt.. he does things that shows he doesn’t want just sex and that he has genuine feelings but then says he doesn’t want anything serious.
