Try a new doctor or Doppler it???

Question

I got my BFP last week! I am now 5 weeks + 2 days and when I called my ob, he can’t fit me into the schedule until I’m almost 13 weeks. I want an appt sooner because I just want to make sure everything is ok rather than wait that long. Should I try a new doctor just for that initial appt to make sure everything is ok at 8-10 weeks or try and Doppler the heart beat? Has anyone ever used those at home dopplers to find the heartbeat? Thanks so much for any advice!

It's normal not to see a dr until later on. But if you want to try and find another dr, then go ahead. I wouldn't get a doppler personally as they can cause panic when unnecessary.

I personally would want an appointment earlier, but I've also had problems conceiving and have had a chemical pregnancy. I think the home Doppler would cause me more anxiety.

Pretty standard to not see the doctor until after nine weeks-ish, the home Doppler’s are cool but it may just cause you more anxiety since it’s kind of hard to find a heartbeat

Decided against the dopplers (thanks guys!) but called a different ob/gyn office and they scheduled a first appointment for 7.5 weeks and then want to see me again at 12 weeks. This makes me feel much more comfortable! Thanks for everyone’s advice!!
