How soon did you start ? What kind and hormones or no hormones ?

Your doctor will usually prescribe something at your 6 weeks pp checkup. I used the pill before and wanted to try the patch, which is hormonal. Basically like the pill but absorbed thru your skin and changed once a week instead of taken daily. I was allergic to the adhesive. Tried a pill. Hated it. Ended up going to planned parenthood for the mirena hormonal IUD. Bled constantly, got my first ovarian cyst. Hated it and got it removed. Ended up getting pregnant 6 months pp when I was supposed to start another pill.

I was given sample packs of Lolo (mini pill) by the OB I ended up with (long story short, needed to be induced but had a midwife). 
I started taking them once I got my first PPP. Literally 2 weeks and 1 day into taking the 4 week pack, Boom! Period. Literally, super heavy, major cramps (ended up with a c-section and OMG cramps suck). 
Now, back story, I was on Triquilar (triphasic pill) for over 15 years. Never spotted, never any breakthrough bleeding, no insane mood swings, no acne, no weight gain, no cramps, no side effects other than the positive ones. 
Needless to say I’ve stopped taking the Lolo and since my husband is getting a vasectomy in less than 2 months, we are just going to use condoms or not do it at all.
