When did you start your baby on solids?

My baby is turning 4 months and a few days  and I can’t wait for him to start solids. I’m not going to start right away though. Maybe 5 months but just wondering when you mama’s starting to introduce your baby to solids?

6 months, that’s just what my dr recommended. Some say 4-6 months. But they have to have the signs to show they’re ready. (Proper tongue control, head control, able to sit on their own etc. )

With my first 4 months... This time around I waited until the recommended 6months and it is a much nicer experience this time around. She was showing all the signs of 'readiness' at 4 months just like her sister but we waited 😊

4m. My son started showing signs of readiness around 3.5m and was grabbing for food. He didn't eat much, but he liked being included.

AAP and WHO recommended 6 months minimum so I just went off those guidelines but didn’t really do it until closer to a year

I started my daughter at 4 months after her pediatrician gave the ok. She was showing all the signs that she was ready and has done great. She’s been eating solids for a little over a month and we’ve had no issues ☺️

Started my son at 6 months and I would say it was the perfect time developmentally for him. He was really interested and even though he was interested in food before 6 months, he was able to feed himself with bits of food I put on the table for him. All babies are different it's up to you.

6 months we started BLW. IMaO and per our dr recommendation there is no reason to start early as their digestive system needs to develop.

I did 4 months because my son wasn’t getting full from just formula. If your baby is showing signs, try it!
