Hcg after 6000

I've read after you reach 6000 the levels can take 4 days to double. Is this true? Mine went from 6100 to 8860 in less than 48 hours and my doctor is saying to be prepared for miscarriage. I have another hcg check tomorrow and ultrasound Monday.
