Do you think it’s wrong to say yes to an engagement proposal because they proposed in public?

Okay so say a man proposes to a woman in a very public place in front of a lot of people, including the man’s family. The woman doesn’t think their relationship is ready for marriage or engagement even and she isn’t quite ready. But she doesn’t want to embarrass him in front of everyone. Would it be wrong for her to calmly say yes, then tell the truth when in private?

I think she should do whatever her gut tells her to do. We skipped the proposal because we both agreed upon marriage. I'll always tell the truth though.

I don’t think it would be wrong for the most part. However, it could be argued that it might be better to just say no to begin with instead of having him think one thing and then rip his heart out later. Either way, it’s a sticky situation where he’s going to get hurt. Just depends on how you want to look at it.

I think you should tell the truth right there and then. I feel whoever is proposing must be 100% sure that marriage is what you both want. If the couple had the conversation about marriage then it shouldn’t be a problem proposing in public.

No. It's going to be embarrassing for him either way but if he had those kinds of thoughts and intentions, he should have had some conversations with her to know she was ready. 
She should ask him for a private word wand tell him privately she's not saying no but she's not ready for an engagement. If he won't step away, she should tell him quietly in front of everyone. 
When and how an engagement happens should be a surprise. That it's coming shouldn't. And both people should be on the same page before the proposal is made.

I think you should make it very clear to your partner where they stand when those conversations about marriage come up to avoid this type of hurt.
1.) If I have expressed in the past that I don’t want to be married /be married right now/ marry you/ or i’m unsure where I stand in marriage... then I would be honest with him and say “no.”
2.) If I was blindsided, if we’ve never had a conversation about marriage, if I like him, if he’s been so nice to me and treats me nice. and if i don’t want to hurt his feelings, i would say yes 😩😩because it’s public and I don’t want to embarrass him. but I would express later that i don’t know if i want to be married.
