Are OPKs essential if you’re having enough sex?

Question

Genuinely curious why people would take OPKs every day, when if you’re having enough sex, there should be sperm in your body regardless of when you ovulate?
I’ve had it confirmed by bloods that yes, I do ovulate on my own, so if I just have sex every second day, surely testing becomes irrelevant?
If I am wrong, please jump in and tell me!! Perhaps I don’t understand the process entirely.

It’s because most people physically can’t have sex every other day from the time you stop bleeding till the end of the month which you would have to do if you weren’t tracking in someway because you wouldn’t know when you ovulated. It’s just exhausting. Using opks or temping makes the process easier when you can’t have sex your entire cycle.

I just stopped birth control that I had been on for about 7.5 years, so it was suggested to me by my obgyn that I use them for the first couple months of my cycle, or until I get pregnant, to see when my cycle goes back to normal and to make sure my hormones are leveling out and getting back to normal. I might have a unique reason for using them but it gives me peace of mind knowing that I’m still producing the right hormones and BC hasn’t messed me up lol.

Since you have a 33% or so chance of becoming pregnant every month, and your fertile window is only like a week long, for me it's more convenient to know when I'm ovulating and have sex the two days before and during ovulation just for the peace of mind. I also had some issues and wasn't sure if I was ovulating so tracking OPK and BBT helped me find out that I was ☺️
