When does it get better??

I had a C-section on 2/9, they just released me today from the hospital. The pain medicine is helping but what about this gas?! I keep burping but it won't come out the other end!!! I haven't had a bowel movement since 2/8... I've had stool softeners, miralax, milk of magnesia you name it!!!! When can I expect for some of this discomfort and pain to let up?

Have you walked around? I would definitely suggest moving as much as possible to allow the gas to escape.

Prune juice!!! It’s nasty but I drank a whole bottle and I was able to go.

Haven’t given birth yet—but I had an appendectomy which is and abdominal surgery. I was told to walk around frequently. Avoid hard to digest foods. It was maybe 2-3 days before I started farting and maybe 4 days when I was able to poop.
It just takes time for your abdominal muscles to be able to do their job normally again. Don’t fret too much and give it time!

Deleted my other comment lol, because I misread! But I had a bowel movement 2 or 3 days AFTER being released from the hospital.   So hopefully within the next few days, you'll have movement! I know it's uncomfortable, believe me.
