Should I or should I not mail out engagement announcement photos?

Hello ladies. I am eloping in October. Fiancé and I have already decided firmly to elope, but we haven’t told our families that we are eloping until after we elope. Neither myself or my fiancé have any social media platforms, so I wanted to mail out just a simple “We’re engaged! Thanks for your love and support!” With a photo. The more I read into it, the more mixed feelings I got that people don’t do that anymore and will confuse it with a save the date or wedding invitation. What do you think? Yay or nay?
