Baby shower for second baby 👎👍

We have a baby girl that will be 3 in may but we are having a baby boy due in june 💙 since this baby is a different gender is it appropriate to have a shower or at least a diaper party? Also wondering if it would be tacky to throw my own if no family/friends wants to host 😬
