Elopement

Anyone on here decided to get eloped instead of having a wedding? I’m considering it just because I really don’t have any close family or friends I’d TRULY want to be there if I had a wedding, and neither does my fiancé. I feel like a wedding with both of our families would be mire stressful and rather dreadful due to personal family problems on both sides. Plus I feel like it would be much cheaper and a much more intimate moment between my fiancé and I. Thoughts?? Any experiences on elopement?

Also, did you tell your family before hand? How did everyone take it?
