Anyone start BLW before 6 mo?

I know technically you aren't supposed to. But my girl is almost six months and hit all the readiness cues. She wants our food so bad!

Our guy wants our food so bad, too. Constantly grabbing at anything we put to our mouths. He’s still getting used to accepting purées though, so I couldn’t imagine him knowing what to do with solids. We’re going to wait a while before BLW.

I think the reasoning for waiting until 6 months is for gut health. If I remember right. But it’s hard to imagine that on their 6 month birthday a magic switch flips and their guts are ready to go! Follow your mama instinct and I’m sure you will do the right thing for your baby

Our daughter has been after our food for months. She'll be 6 months on the 21st. We'll occasionally let her try things (string cheese, a piece of cracker, a little cooked potato). We definitely make sure to watch while she's eating them.

Yes! We started giving a few things a week or two before he was six months!
