Update of Birth!!!

DEANGELA

So I was scheduled to be induced on January 19th. We were told to call in around 4pm but there was no available beds. We then received a call around 1am and made it to the hospital around 2am. Long story short they started me on pitocin and when I was between 4 and 5 cm they broke my water. From there everything went down hill. The babies heart beat kept dropping. I was on and off oxygen for hours and told to switch positions to see if his heart rate would rise. It did not and we ended up getting a C section(which was fine as long as he is safe). It took a while longer than it did with my first child. Once he was out they did all the normal things took his temp (which was low) and put him under a heater. After a while they allowed me to breastfeed then placed him back under a lamp. He was with us for about 3 hours before he was placed in the NICU. He was there from the 20th of Jan until the 6th of February. He was diagnosed with hyperinsulinism and given meds as well as a glucometer to go home with. As of last Wednesday he was taken off of the meds and only needs his sugar monitored daily. God has truly strengthened us and or family through this trial. For those of you who have been through this or will go through this, my heart goes out to you. This has been one of the hardest and most helpless situation I have ever been in. The multiple test, iv s in his head, the fasting, watching him in pain...everything has been so stressful yet has strengthened our faith so much. I'm thankful to be able to share and hopefully give hope to anyone currently going through the same situation.

Here is our Charles Joseph...
