I need IUD help
So I have been told that my old gynecologist (who ignored every complaint and symptom I ever told her) "misdiagnosed" me (not sure if it's the proper term considering the jerk didn't even try) when I was younger and that I have PCOS quite severely. So basically I've had it for a long while and it's been going completely unchecked. So she recommended a form of birth control for dealing with the symptoms that are causing issues but since the pill, patch, and shot are out she wants me to try an IUD. She said I likely won't have a reaction to it like the others but I'm still super unsure about getting an IUD.
Of course I am worried there's still possibly gonna be side effects. But also how are they even going to get it in concerns me, I mean pelvic exams and internal ultrasounds already hurt like heck so bad last time they had to give me something to relax me cause it went so bad. Ik I sound like a baby but that crap is horrid no matter how many times I get one it's unbearable. So how am I supposed to handle them putting it in? And how do I know what brand to get? I mean the finances are already killing me but is there one that is better or worse or?
So basically I was wondering does anyone have any advice or anything? Anything I should know that my doctor may not have said? Did it help anyone's PCOS?
