Am I the only one that’s like this?

We haven’t taken our girl out at all except for doctor visits. There are a few reasons, but the main one is the FLU! Sometimes I feel like I’m being paranoid, but then I just looked at the chart in my state and I’m like, uhhhhhh nope. I’ll deal with ALL the cabin fever before I’ll deal with my daughter getting sick already.

Germs are healthy. You want baby to be exposed to build an immune system. We have taken my boy everywhere since he was 1 weeks. And I mean to the stores, malls, and even out of town to San Antonio for a weekend getaway. We just take precautions. He is 19weeks and never been sick. Plus I would lose my mind having cabin fever and that wouldn’t be healthy for me, my baby or my hubby.

You can still bring germs and sickness home to baby, so personally it doesn't feel worth it to force us to be cooped up all day. My little guy loves going out and about, seeing people and exploring the world. We love visiting friends and family, shopping and running errands, going out to eat.

We go out all the time. Baby is fine. We’ve been to the park, in-laws with other kids running around, mall, grocery store, etc. He’s fine and flu is widespread in our area. Just wash your hands and you’ll be fine. Baby needs fresh air and sunlight

We have been bringing our girl out since the day after we got home from the hospital. We live in downtown Chicago and she has not gotten sick once. Exposing babies to germs is a good thing. Keeping them from germs is probably doing more harm than good for the baby long term. Our doctor told us that the biggest threat to our daughter is us bringing germs from the outside home to her and encouraged us to get out and about. I usually put her in a carrier or the stroller when out so she is generally protected from others. We have had no issues. She loves being out and looking around at everything. And mama and dad are happy campers too.

I stay home! To me it’s just not worth the extra exposure! My husband goes to work so the baby gets exposed to enough when he comes up even though he washes up before touching her. I hate when my extended family tells me to build up her immune system. My baby is 3 months old her immune system is finally mature. I want to let her make antibodies to her vaccinations first. I’ll probably keep her inside every cold and flu season for the first few years. Sickness is hard on them when they are tiny.

I feel like I should clarify a few things since people probably think I’m a weirdo by now lol. The car seat we have for my daughter doesn’t have a handle. It’s not meant for being taken out and about and I didn’t know that until we tried to put her in it the first time. We thought they all did that now! 🙄 I have tried to carry her so many times at home and out and about. My girl HATES being put in a carrier which was very sad for me because I’ve seen others do it with their babies and they had zero issues. So until she’s big enough for me to carry her on my hip or to support her head in her stroller, this is my life. Just a stay at home mom doing the best she can with what she has.

Oops meant yes I guess... I’ve taken my 3 month old all over since a week old. I have a 3 year old and we hate being home everyday, we have to go somewhere 2-3 times a week. I’m taking him to classes.

I avoided leaving my apartment for 4 weeks, we went to the grocery store twice in that time and we kept her really enclosed and she ended up getting bacterial menningitis at 3 weeks 5 days. After spending 22 days in the children's hospital with her (and never leaving as I kept breastfeeding her) I like going out once or twice a week. I went to the mall last week but went during a weekday in the afternoon it was quite dead. We can do our best to limit exposure to sick people but bringing baby out helps them adapt to the outside world.

I was like this at first because our son is a NICU baby. But then I realized I have another kid to attend too and I gots to get shit done. And being realistic my husband and son are the germs! Especially my son 😂 him being in school and my husband working in a warehouse that’s open 24/7. They bring in the germs. Going out you just gotta be smart, baby wear, or put cover over baby’s car seat. Don’t have strangers in your baby’s face or touching baby. My husband is like a pit bull on watch when strangers try to go near our son.
