Relationship

So I have been going on dates with a friend of mine from when we where kids, but we used to go out like friends and even give each other advice about relationships that we have had. Recently we went out like normal and things got heated and had sex, we have had sex a couple other times after that and he is so sweet and nice to me but I ask him where did he wanted this to go and he said his life has a lot going on right now but he loves for us to stay how we are guess friends with sex, don’t know what to do I would love something more serious I have a child( not with him) I feel maybe that scares him a bit
