What is the chance for survival for a baby born at 24 weeks?

My friend is having a lot of complications and might have to deliver SOON. She doesn’t have this app so I’m trying to get some statistics.

Between 60 - 70% 
If she can hold out until 27 weeks it goes up drastically and the chance for future complications goes way down.
Main thing is holding out for those lungs to develop.

My niece was born at 23+6. She’s a healthy 11 month old currently. She spent 3.5 months in the NICU, and all she has is a flat spot that is being corrected.

It would really just depends on baby to be honest some babies have little to no complications at birth, others do. Some show weakness when they are older while some kids do not.

Tell her to make sure they give her baby the steroid injections it’s not for nothing but those two Injections make the difference of the world. My 24 weeker is about to be 9 years old.

I know 24 is bare minimum, they will allow. Some hospital have policy that the do not try to keep under 24 week babies alive. There mostly is no point... 24 is bad, but probably can be done... I know one happy boy, who was born at 25. But the beginning was sad. Needed a lot of surgery. Nicu time. It was mentally drainig for parents. But now, he has a full life, and they have not found any side effects.
But that is not always possible...

I know an acquaintance that had her son at 24 weeks. There were a lot of obstacles to overcome and a very long hospital stay but overall he’s a happy healthy 4/5 year old now. 
I also had a childhood friend and my cousin both deliver their daughters at 26 weeks pregnant. Same for them. Lots of obstacles to overcome. One more than the other. My friends daughter still has to use oxygen at times and has a g tube (feeding tube) other than that doing really well. She’s about 2 now. My cousins daughter you would NEVER know she was born so early looking and talking to her. She’s an extremely healthy, smart, happy and energetic 10 year old.

Baby would be In nicu for months. But it is possible. My friend went into labor at 24 weeks and her daughter is now 4. I’m unsure that the early birth affected her but about a year ago she was diagnosed with autism and has needed speech therapy but it has helped her tremendously. Power of prayer works!!!!
