the pill and periods

this is gonna sound really dumb, but when you’re on the pill, and you get your period and you stop taking the active pill when you’re on ur period, does your body forget it’s on birth control until you start taking the active pill again? like it kinda jus restarts the whole process when you take the active pills again? i’m an overthinker so this is what goes on in my brain
