Induction with no epidural????

Question

I really didn't want to have an epidural but I have to be induced at 40 weeks if she isn't born before then. I've heard being induced is way more painful and more work so I'm wondering if it'll even be possible/smart for me to go natural? Has anyone else been induced and gone natural with no epidural?

I have to be induced because I have a marginal cord insertion so they're worried about baby staying in past my due date, therefore induction. It's not something I wanted but not something I will deny. I don't care about having an all natural birth. I just really dont want an epidural! 😂 Thanks for the comments though everyone. Guess I will have to play it by ear if and when it happens and see how things go 🙂

I was induced with pitocin and went epidural free. Got it at 1pm and by 6pm was pushing already, pushed for 2.5hrs. I won’t lie it was absolutely brutal when I got to 9/10cm and the pushing tired me out. I really didn’t feel much until 9/10cm and then all hell broke loose lol BUT it can clearly be done just depends on how much pain you’re willing to go through and can handle

I have been induced 3 times. My second and third times they softened my cervix with cryotec and there was no need for pitocin cause my body started rolling on its own. I made it will no epidural both times but each time transition was a b. But by then it was way too late but thankfully transition only lasts like a half hr. My first i was induced with cervidl and pitocin was used and i had an epidural but was still very much in pain and was my worst labor experience.

I was induced with my 2nd. I had a cook balloon inserted at 41 weeks. I went home, slept and came back in the morning. It was removed at 7am - dilated me to 4 cm. Started oxytocin at 8am. Midwife broke my water at 10am. I had him at 12:19pm. Little over 4 hr labor. I only pushed for 5 min- but in that 5 min baby was stuck in my pelvic bone and his arm broke when my midwife had to reach in and help maneuver him out. No epidural. He was 8lbs 15oz. But this is just my experience. Everyone has different pain tolerances and there’s nothing wrong with getting an epidural or using pain relief if you want it 💕

Omg... I cant imagine. I was induced and as soon as they put cervadil in me I was already dilating and the contractions were horrid. I got an epidural at a 4 and so glad I did. But if you wanna go without one then you’re a god damn warrior!
Btw- even with my epidural I was only in “active labor” for 10 hours. It didn’t slow anything down and by the time I had her I was able to move my feet and legs it just took the edge off.

I was induced with my second without anything for pain. They refused to let me have the epidural, and over 2 years later i still wish i'd had it. It was a traumatic experience for me compared to how easy my natural labour was with my oldest

Why do you have to be induced at your due date? This is a preference?

Technically if you're induced then you you're birth will not be "natural". I really disagree with inducing women before baby has decided they are done cooking. Their is zero scientific evidence to support it. 
Your body, your choice! Getting induced (pitocin) leads to a big increase in need for an epidural. But my mom did it 30 years ago! She was on pitocin and gave birth with no pain medications; mostly because she was at a military hospital and refused to give her any.
