Need clogged duct help!!

I have been exclusively pumping for less than 24 hours now as I am out of town and away from baby. I already have a large warm red mass on one of my breasts. No amount of warmth, massage, or pumping seems to be draining it. I can even feel the little lumpy ducts underneath!! It is mildly painful, not too bad, but I don’t want it to get worse. I normally pump a couple times at home in addition to breastfeeding, so pumping is not new to me, but this bad of a blockage is!

What else can I do to help it?? I don’t go back to baby for another few days. 😔

Put a vibrator on the clog and massage it towards your nipple. It helped mine a lot but I will say it hurts like a mother. . I actually cried when I put my vibrator on it.

When I ep’d with my first I would put lavender essential oil on the clog and massage it in the shower with a vibrator or electric toothbrush, only thing that worked. Sunflower lecithin helped a lot too.

I’m still struggling with mine!! I’ve done everything but the sunflower lecithin. Gonna give that a go and see if it works! I’ve had mine for 3 or 4 weeks already 😭

I used pumped in the shower with HOT water running on it & while massaging it w a vibrator. It was the only way I could get it out

It may be a milk blister. They aren't always obvious. The tiniest white spot on your nipple could be the problem.

Keep checking just to be sure. Sometimes I suffer for a whole day before I see it. Try taking a hot water bottle and massaging while pumping.

I just checked... but I don’t see anything. It’s like an almost golf ball sized mass in the breast, but softer towards the nipple, which makes me think it’s blocked farther up. Maybe?

Try to put your pump on the highest setting of suction with heat on the spot and massage it down. Good luck momma

Omg I’ve had clogged ducts the past 2 days and massage and heat was not helping. My baby was the only one who could unclog. If you find something that works for pumping, plz share!

Haven’t found anything yet 😔. Super hot shower water just before pumping is loosening it a little, but it’s firming up a few hours later.

Get some sunflower lecithin capsules. It makes your milk “slippery” and it will unclog the duct. Continue to take them and you won’t ever have a plugged duct again

While it's been great, it's not 100 percent. I take two a day and I currently have one I can't get unclogged.

Nice! I’ll have to see if I can track some down.

It actually has a ton of benefits! Our bodies naturally produce lethicin. Just make sure you buy ‘sunflower’ lecithin- then it is all natural. Lots of great articles on Pinterest! I stumbled upon it when I was pregnant with my first and just had my third baby. The only time if gotten plugged ducts is when I stopped using it. Then I get one and have to use it to save the day!

Do you have Epsom salts? Taking an epsom salt bath or putting some in a Haakaa with warm water can really help.

Unfortunately I don’t have my Haakaa with me :(
