Mucus in poop? Should I go to the doctor?

Ta

TMI warning:

The last couple of days I’ve noticed a change in color, consistency, and the addition of mucus in my poop and I haven’t a clue what it means. I’m used to dealing with constipation, only being able to go once a day, and hemorrhoids. Now, it’s much softer, barely more than diarrhea, and has yellowish mucus in it - sometimes large globs bigger than a pea.

I don’t have any pain in my stomach, nor am I going more frequently, but this clearly isn’t normal. I’m also late for my period, but only by one day, so I don’t think they’re related.

My hesitation going to the doctor is because our health insurance just changed and the doc I’ve been seeing for almost 10 years is not out of network :-/ I don’t want to go see someone new if it’s for nothing.
