Scary C section
My birth story was very intense but I would do it all over again for my baby.
My pregnancy was super rough I had hyperemesis gravidarum my whole pregnancy was prescribed 3 different nausea meds that worked sometimes and sometimes didnt. Also they saw placenta previa in the ultrasound but they within 2 extra ultrasounds was told it moved up.
My due date was March 9th according to the ultrasound but this is a scheduled second csection so dr gave us an estimate of March 2nd.
At 6 and half month I started having heart palpitations, headaches, alot of swelling and rapid weight gain dr referral to a cardiologist but no appointment available till February. Swelling got worse and worse so my dr ordered a 24 hour urine collection to rule out preeclampsia. February 8th came around and I started bleeding went into the hospital was given 3 shots to stop contractions and 2 steroid shot to develop her lungs. Was sent home after my second shot the next day even with contractions still going on we were also told that he would do our csection the 24th. Bleeding slowed down and contractions on and off. February 9th I couldn't really feel baby panicked on February 10th so went in to hospital to check on her she was fine. I was in so much pain for 2 days after just swollen, headaches, and contractions going on. February 13th at 4 in the morning contractions started but were irregular soon after they started getting regular and so I downloaded an app to track them by 7 i was having them an average of 50 seconds every 5 minutes and I started bleeding again so I called the dr and headed to the hospital. I was hooked up to monitoring and was under the impression that they would stop contractions and send me home lunch time rolled around and they fed me so I'm thinking for sure no csection today since i ate and usually you fast before surgery. About 1 dr comes in and explains that because of bleeding contractions and that i did have preeclampsia he wanted to do our csection today which of course we agreed on. So now we have a csection scheduled for 6pm that evening. I get prepped and set up for surgery 6 rolls around and I'm wheeled off. I switch beds in the OR and im getting a spinal omg did it hurt he dug around and had to do it twice the nurse pedro was pushing down on me to be sure my back was arched so I was having some trouble breathing so I told them and they hooked me up to oxygen. Finally my spinal is done they laid me down and I was instantly numb from the chest down. The drape was set up and my husband was called in I couldn't feel anything so I asked my hubby if they had already started and he let me know they did I felt my whole body moving then my nose clogged up I told the Anesthesiology and he touched my should and tried to reassure me that I was fine then I told him again and all I remember was my mouth tightening and a metal tool being inserted. When I woke up I was in recovery they explained that i flatlined and they had to intubate me and I was hauled off to get a cT. I thank god that I'm alive. I had several complications my uterus was so stretched it could have ruptured, my baby was laying sideways so they had trouble getting her out, I had preeclampsia, when they got in they realized I still had placenta previa, I lost 400 cc of blood, and I flatlined. I thank god that me and my beautiful daughter are ok. This is probably our last baby due to everything that happened but I was blessed with my son and daughter.
