When 2 wean toddlers from drinking milk from bottle

Question

I have a hard time weaning my 3 yrs old from drinking milk using bottle. She doesn't eat too. I want het to stop bottle drinking but i am scared she will starve..
Suggestions, anyone?

You’re supposed to switch from bottles to sippy cups at about a year. What has her pediatrician said?

At 3, just take it away. Buy her sippy cups with spouts. She will drink it when she’s thirsty. If she’s already not eating, you’re beyond the point of being concerned over her starving. Take it away and teach her to eat real food.

Try only putting water in the bottles and milk in the sippy cup and always give her both. This really helped my son. You could also try a sippy cut with a straw they suck similar to a bottle like this

I would talk with your pediatrician. Use transition supply cups, let her pick some out with fun characters etc. “donate” bottles to a friend with a baby. If she has any developmental delays or sensory issues that may be causing problems with eating she may need to got through feeding therapy.

Does she have any health issues that are preventing her from eating? Have you gotten help from your pediatrician? I wonder if you can get a referral to someone who can help— like an OT (not sure if this falls under their scope) or nutritionist.

We talked about it a few minutes ago and she said she'll drink from the sippy cup.  I guess i have to be firm about not giving in from her cries. I will have her throw away her bottles herself.
