Decreased HCG — Heartbeat Found 1 Week Later??

Ju

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 13 months and I have had two early miscarriages (one at 5 weeks and the other at 6 weeks).

Earlier this month we found out I got pregnant again! Because of my history, my doctor wanted to test my HCG a few times before my ultrasound at 6 weeks.

2/14 - HCG 3571

2/17 - HCG 6927

2/19 - HCG 8338 - I was told it's not doubling properly.

2/21 - HCG 7967 - I was told I would miscarry. I was devastated.

2/27 - Almost a week after the last HCG draw I had an ultrasound to make sure it wasn't ectopic or anything. I continued my progesterone suppositories until then--just in case.

The ultrasound showed a perfect 6 week embryo with a heartbeat of 137! My doctor was shocked and she said she has never seen this happen before.

She doesn't want to test my HCG anymore because she doesn't want the numbers to get in my head and that the ultrasound is what matters the most.

I asked her if it could be a vanishing twin and she said she didn't think so because they only saw 1 sac.

I am still so worried. I know that a decrease in HCG is not a good sign. I have another ultrasound later this week (week 7) to make sure the heart is still beating and that its growing.

Has this happened to anyone?

I could use some reassurance and it would be amazing to find other people who have experienced the same thing!
