Membrane sweep?

I’ve seen other ladies talking about it but I had no idea what it was. 
Dr. Just offered to do it at next appt and explained what it is. 
I’ll be 38.2 at next appt. 
anyone got it done that early and had good outcome? What was your experience?

I'm 38w4d and I have one booked for Friday when I'll be 39 weeks. I've got another one booked for Monday with the hospital if the one on Friday doesn't work.
Really hoping my little boy stays true to his form so far in not wanting anyone messing with him and we go into labour before Friday though.
I've had two bleeds in the third trimester so they have said I'll be induced on my due date if he hasn't started himself by then :/

I am 38 weeks today and just had first membrane sweep done. It’s a little uncomfortable but I’m hoping it helps get labour going. I know your body won’t go into labour until it’s ready though, no matter what you do! I’ve heard it can take more than one sweep to get things moving along. I’m hoping this one is all I need though.
