Tdap?

Question

Should I get the Tdap before baby gets here? (Doctor hasn’t mentioned it at all) 
My husband is willing to get it too if it’s important. 
I’ve also asked my parents to get it, and they refuse. Is this a big deal? Is it not safe for them to be around/holding the baby if they don’t get it?

Yaaaaas! Baby can’t get it, so some of the antibodies are passed to the baby so there is at least some immunities. If your parents are refusing to get it, they run the risk of giving the baby whooping cough, which can be fatal to baby. To me, it isn’t worth the risk of the baby catching it. Just get the shot.

I had my tdap in second trimester.  If doctor hasn't mentioned it then you can ask for it. It's a good one to have for sure.😊

We just got ours this past weekend. They checked our insurance at our vons pharmacy and it was free! They did have certain weeks for pregnant women to get it, I believe it was 28-36 weeks. He asked me multiple times to make sure I was in the range.

Absolutely get it, also it is important for your partner to get it too, baby’s can’t have it i anybody who will have close contact with the baby really should have it. I would be telling your parents again. 
It’s one needle for them, or 1000s of needles testing and hospital stays for poor baby who gets it :(

Yes get it! Baby will get immunity from you. And so should your husband. We didnt make grandparents get it but do require you're comfortable with. It's your baby, not theirs.

I can’t get it myself when I am pregnant bc I’m mildly allergic to it so they won’t let me get it. So I was super crazy about making sure everyone who was going to be near my first had it done bc he couldn’t get it until 6 weeks.
