How much does Dad help?

Curious how much Dad helps with baby during the week and weekend?

He never gets up at night. During the week because he has to get up at 4am and work 12 hr days.  Plus she only wakes to nurse and go back to bed so not much he can do lol.  On weekends he will get up with her in morning and let me get a couple hours sleep uninterrupted.  Mostly he does a good job. Sometimes I wish he would do a little more. I don’t think he realizes quite how hard it is to be up all night with her and then on my own all day.

My husband is super hands on. He doesn’t get up at night but I breastfeed so there’s no point plus he works. When he gets up for work (if he can), he gets our oldest’s breakfast before he gets ready so I can get a few more minutes of sleep. Then I get up with baby to feed and get him up for the day. When my husband gets back home, he pretty much takes over baby duty except feedings. But he does play, bath time for both kids sometimes. Other times he does one and I’ll do the other. And in between, he’s helping me clean up and stuff.

I’m a stay at home mom and My husband works Monday - Friday from 9-6. He works over an hour away with traffic so he waits to leave the house until traffic dies down and leaves work when traffic dies down. He  has a pretty flexible schedule so right now it works for us. When LO gets older he will go in to work early and come home early. He will usually do her morning feeding and play with her until he has to start getting ready while I pump. When he gets home from work he does bedtime routine and puts her to bed. On the weekends I do a lot more of the work. He’ll help with feedings but I’m the one playing on the floor with her, putting her down for naps, making bottles, changing diapers, as he is usually doing stuff around the house like yard work, doing house repairs, etc. He can usually tell when I’m burnt out so he’ll help more then.

My SO is amazing. He wakes up when he is home (he works nights), he cares for him during the day when I'm at work (when my mom is unable to), he washes bottles, we do bath time together 2-3 nights a week. I love my  Husband, I'm so blessed.

My fiancé works Monday-Friday. He gets up at 4:30 and is gone until 5 at night. I told him when the baby was born that I was gonna be the one to to night shift with our son since I’m able to nap during the day if need be. I also get up on weekends but sometimes he’ll keep the baby so I can nap or go to bed early. When he’s gone from work though he helps with our kids while I shower and stuff and have my personal time.

My husband has come a long way recently. He works 10 hour days and we are building a house so he also works on that a lot. It got to a point where he wasn’t even seeing the baby while she was awake for multiple days per week. After several conversations, I feel like we are in a good place right now. He does the morning diaper change and bottle while I get ready for work. I do the daycare drop off and pick up only because daycare is on my way to work, but he is doing it tomorrow since it’s my birthday and I’m working from home. He gets out of work at 6 and rushes home to make sure he sees her before she goes to bed at 6:30. Then he goes over to the house we are building to get some work done there. The weekends are still all on me as he works on Saturdays and is over at the house on Sundays, but he comes home for lunch to spend an hour with her and give me a break. He is also very good about me going out to dinner with friends on a Saturday while he stays with the baby. He knows I need my social time! He has pretty much always been ready to help out if she wakes up at night. She sleeps straight through, but for a week she was waking up in the middle of the night. He went right in and helped her get back to sleep. Even on Friday nights where I’m off and he has to work the next day. I’m hoping this trend continues!

My husband is none stop. Works twelve hours and comes home and jumps right into dad mode. He does the 5am feeding before leaving for work. He takes care of the three big kids like they are his own even tho he’s stepdad. He’s awesome

My husband technically controls his work hours so some days he works 5 hours and some it’s closer to 12. But on the shorter days he’s very hands on with either the baby or our 5 year old. He gladly take on double bath duty when needed. I’m nursing so he rarely does night time feeds. But on like a Friday or Saturday if I’m up late or do a girls night, I’ll pump late right before I go to bed and he will do night time feed. I work some times on the weekends so Saturday mornings are ‘boy time’ while I work. Plus I have horses so when I go ride he holds everything down. We’ve always split cooking, he will help with dishes once in a while and if I slack too much on laundry 😅he will jump in on the weekends and do a load or two. He also always takes our older son to school every morning. Gets both of them ready so I can either stay asleep or deal with just baby. Then I do pick up (preschool is 3 hours in the AM 4 days a week)

My husband and I work opposite shifts.   He works 9pm-7am sun-thur and I work 8-2 mon-fri.   So he has the kids by himself pretty much 7:30-2:30 mon-fri.     He will watch them in the weekends if I have to run to the store.  But if I am home I have the kids.

We both work full time so during the day our guy is at day care but Hubby is 100% hands on
I drop off in the morning and he picks up our son in the afternoons.
Get home we all are on the floor playing and having tummy time.
We alternate evenings on who cooks dinner. While one cooks the other is busy with baby.
Then we eat together (bottle for babe and on our laps)
Bath time he gets it all ready and I bath baby then he gets baby dressed for the night while I sort out bottles and bag for day care.
We sit together and feed babe hes last bottle and put him to bed together. 
Our son sleeps from 8PM to 4.30/5AM but if he does wake up we, again, alternate the person who got up last time can stay in bed while the other does it lol.
In the AM Hubby feeds baby & then I will get him ready for day care and then babe is on our bed while we get ready for work and chat to him about what the day is going to bring 
Then we are all out the door.
