Water birth, anyone had or planning to have one? If you have what were the pros/cons

I plan on laboring in a tub since I’m not doing epidural but will move to bed when I get closer

Planned to. Then I became high risk and ended up with a c-section under general anesthesia. But my friend has two water births and loved them.

I labored in the tub with my third pregnancy. Compared to my other labors it helped so so so much! I was aiming for a full water birth but they forgot to break my water all the way (went into labor with it leaking) so as soon as I was ready to push they had me get out so they could break it literally seconds before she was born. Pretty sure the membrane would have remained intact if they had aloud me to deliver her without them breaking it. Looking back that was my best birth out of three. I had her in a holistic birthing center. No iv port, no nonstop monitoring, just randomly would use a Doppler to make sure she was okay. They even fed me during labor! They didn’t bring in any pain meds into that room (really was just one big room) so I was thankful for that because I didn’t want to break down and ask for anything. Never had an epidural. Would do it there all over again if I could!!

Getting in the bath made my contractions worse... I wanted to jump out of my skin lol

I got in the birthing pool but it made me so hot and I panicked so I didn't stay in it that long. I'm hoping to try again tho when my second is due in June
