What a good momma

I wanna show more people what’s goin on here because our goat nutmeg is amazing.

I really can’t believe that she has adopted babies she didn’t give birth to. The babies were on our porch earlier because we let momma out to graze on some good grass and they were socializing with us, one of them got stuck behind a bucket in a corner and she freaked out and knocked the bucket out of the way so the baby could get loose. Like 100% a Momma right there.

I’ve caught some pictures of her being a good mamma.

For those who don’t know, the baby goats mom died from complications due to giving birth. We tried everything we could and got a vet out here but it wasn’t good enough.

Another goat, nutmeg totally stepped up and is mothering them.

She follows them, they follow her.

Rip to momma belle. She tried even while in pain to nurse them, we made sure they got colostrum.

Yes nutmeg has had her own babies before, but years and years ago. She is an older goat

I expected her to not give a crap about them but nope. They belong to her now
