Is this kind of basinette safe?

My friend lent it to me. It’s wicker with a light fabric cover. It’s a jolly jumper brand. 
I thought they had to have mesh sides to be breathable? Would this be safe for overnight sleeping?

I think if you’re questioning its safety you may not feel comfortable with baby in it. Perhaps get a different one that you are more comfortable with

In the uk most of us all put our baby’s in a Moses basket they sell them for baby’s to sleep in if they was not safe then they would not be able to sell them .

It’s hard to tell the size of it exactly, but if it has handles and it’s small enough to carry around like a little bassinet basket...I’d say it’s too small and should not be used as an overnight sleeping place. You need something larger, with more room and more breathable, with a totally flat surface.

Perfectly safe, why not? My daughter used to sleep in Moses basket for 3 month.

It should be used for newborns who are not mobile (not rolling, changing directionin sleep, etc.).  Once they show signs of moving, definitely switch to something with larger surface area.

I think mesh sides are best. A lot of bassinets don’t have mesh sides and are still considered safe, but it i just think mesh would be best. I also think those Moses basket bassinet stand things look too unstable for me.

Is this kind of basinette safe?
