Weight

Kate

I had my 28 week appointment today and have gained 22 pounds since the start of my pregnancy (was 120 to start and am now 142). I have eaten healthy throughout, don’t eat out and have worked out consistently (3/4 times a week). Today the new doctor I met said she was concerned about my weight. Here was the convo:

Her: “Everything looks good with the baby but I want you to be cognizant if your weight. I bet you’re eating fast food”

Me: “no I actually can’t have gluten so I stay away from fast food”

Her: “okay well maybe you worked out before and aren’t really working out now? Or you’re drinking a lot of juice?”

Me: “no I do more weights than cardio now but I am still working out consistently 3/4 times a week. And I never drink juice”.

Her: “okay well start eating now like you aren’t even pregnant”.

I hate to be upset about this but the minute she left the room I immediately started bawling. I feel awful bc I know it’s so silly and there are so many worse things that are happening in the world, but when you already feel like your self esteem is plummeting, it’s hard to hear a convo like that.

Am I overreacting feeling this way? 😭 maybe it’s just the hormones but I’m so upset!
