Is my period normal?

I always have regular periods every month. But this time it seemed different. I usually have a regular flow for 4 days then the 5th and 6 day it will be light, then im done. But this time the 1st 3 days it was heavy, heavier then usual. Then the 4th day in the morning my period completely stopped all day. Then when the evening came, it came back light. Then again on the 5th day in the morning it stopped then came back in the evening. Then spotted on the 6th day. Has this ever happened to anyone? Like the period stopping and starting? Doesn't seem normal to me.
