Is there an increased risk of having a stillborn after 40weeks??

Im 40 weeks 5 days and the hospital wont talk to me about being induced until tomorrow. After reading some articles im a bit concerned that my baby will be put at risk if hes not born soon 😓

No not really. As long as you’ve had a normal pregnancy and non stress tests, you should be fine. Normal pregnancies last anywhere from 37-42 weeks. I had my first naturally at 41+1.

It should be ok until 42 weeks...they won't let you go past that. I was induced at 41+3 with my first and it was all fine

No it increases after 42 weeks, which is why they usually schedule induction at 42 if your still pregnant. The chances are still low even at 42 weeks but steadily increase everyday after 42 w 1 d .

they only induce you before 40 if theres a medical reason. if youve had no complications & arent high risk thats most likely why they waited

Try not to stress see what they say tomorrow and watch movement as always! Baby is on their way shortly I’m sure! As long as you’re feeling good movement few times a day that’s great hopefully they will give you the option for induction if you want that!
