Lyla Kate - Elective Induction 3/11/2020
Elective Induction was scheduled for 39+1. Hospital was packed but they still let us be admitted. Started pitocin and the Foley bulb at midnight and by 4am up to a 4. Epidural placed at this point because apparently everyone was having a baby that night and the anesthesiologist may not have been able to get to me as quickly as I might have needed. They came in and broke my water.
Unfortunately, like I said, the l&d floor was packed so we didn't get checked again until 1pm. I had some epidural issues with a 'window' of pain and luckily the anesthesiologist stopped by right before my next check. These contractions sucked. BUT when the OBs finally stopped by, we apparently had hit 10! It explained why I felt like I was dying and was super shaky (common during transition according to the nurse).
She came out in 5 pushes.
I definitely had a better experience with this 15 hour induction vs the 48 hours it took with #1.
