When is heartbeat detectable?

So I had a complete molar pregnancy in Feb of 2019 and I just found out we are expecting! I’m literally only 4 weeks + 1 right now so clearly too early for an ultrasound. I messaged the doctor to see when I should schedule my first appointment and she said around 7 weeks. I’m anxious because I didn’t know I was miscarrying last time until my first ultrasound at 10 weeks so I don’t think I’ll be able to chill out until I get that first look. I was wondering if it’s even possible to hear the heartbeat around 7 weeks along? Your experience?

You can definitely hear and see it at 7 weeks with a vaginal ultrasound. We heard and saw it at 6w4d with an abdominal ultrasound.

7 weeks is a good time for a 1st ultrasound after an early loss. There will be enough development for them to almost certainly say if the pregnancy is viable. I had to wait 9 weeks this pregnancy, and thankfully everything is perfect this time (advantage was I avoided needing a transvaginal scan).

They could see and measure heartbeat at my 7.4 ultrasound but we didn’t get to hear

I got to see and hear the heart beat at 6 weeks 3 days. Some times you can’t hear the heartbeat that early but mine has a strong one. As long as your dates are accurate you should be able to see everything by 7 weeks
