Thyroid/ TSH question

So I had bloodwork done and the nurse called today and said I had elevated TSH (5.7) and a vitamin D deficiency. So I start vitamin d tomorrow morning but she said my doctor wants to see me in person to discuss the TSH level.

My question is do they normal do more testing to determine a thyroid issue? My doctors office won’t even schedule an appointment until the Coronavirus scare has died down so I’m just curious to hear others experiences.
