Weird discharge

I was taking a bath with my hubby and he noticed a string of discharge. But it was unusually thick and very elasticy. Mostly clear but like to strong to pull apart. And a lot of it. Looked mostly like egg whites but with white in where it was thicker. I just took my third patch of month off yesterday and we had unprotected sex that night but my period is due Monday. Any suggestions as to what it could be? Totally out of the norm for me.
