Moms who are ordering birthday gifts online, how are you disinfecting it when you receive it?

Is spraying it with Lysol good enough to get any germs off since it comes from all these states. Or should I leave it outside ? How long ?

From the Washington Post about receiving packages:
You can leave that cardboard package at your door for a few hours — or bring it inside and leave it right inside your door, then wash your hands again. If you’re still concerned there was any virus on the package, you could wipe down the exterior with a disinfectant, or open it outdoors and put the packaging in the recycling can. (Then wash your hands again.)
My lazy ass is more than happy to leave packages outside all day then wash my hands before and after opening. I save my disinfectant for things I can’t leave outside like my groceries.

I’ve read the virus can live on cardboard for up to 24 hours and plastic up to 72 hours. So if you can’t/don’t want to leave it outside (or safely move it to garage or something), then definitely thoroughly disinfect, dispose of all packaging and wash hands asap.

As a Fedex delivery driver and a mom that does a lot of online shopping, leave it outside for a bit (just be careful with creepers) and spray with Lysol if you have any.
